Interview

Something must have inspired you to take up riding - when did you start and what inspired you?

Well i have always loved riding bikes and when i was around 11 or 12 there a few guys in Blyth who had made a track with jumps and stuff and they pretty much taught me how to ride. I loved it and I just went from there! Big thanks to the Richards brothers!

Ever had time apart from your bike?

Not really! I think the longest would probably be a month or so when we went on a family trip to perth a few years back.

Seems like these days it's best to be the best. What happened to just having fun - thoughts?

Yeah there are some dudes out there that just take it way to serious, usually just because they are riding for reasons other than the main one of having fun on your bicycle!

Obviously week from week we learn something new. Do you apply this way of thinking when riding?

Yeah definately! Its not like your going to learn a new trick every day but just being on your bike is improving your skills.

No one likes talking about it but have you encountered any setbacks such as injuries or other reasons?

I have been really fortunate with injuries so far! No broken bones but I have been having a bit of trouble with my knee but other than that just little stuff that you just have to put up with.

When you're not riding what are you up to or doing?

Working, filming, editing, driving to adelaide, hanging with Liz or mates!

Did you ride today? If so where? Did you have fun?

Nah it was too hot today! but i did have a good session on the trampoline with the sprinkler! haha.

When riding who are you most likely be hanging with? Do you like to have a roll on your own at all?

Well i seem to be in adelaide nearly every weekend and there is usually a heap of adelaide crew who are keen for a roll. Back here in Blyth/Clare there are a couple local dudes who i ride with every now and then but i do enjoy a nice pedal through the trails on my own.. havent done that in a while though!

Any favourite foods?

I really like yoghurt and fruit with a bit of musli for breaky and then a good salad roll with avocado and ham is great for lunch! Then spaghetti bolognese for tea and it would be a sweet day of food! haha.

Have you had any travel experience? And if so where would you say your favourite place would be?

I have travelled a fair bit in Aus but havent crossed the sea yet. The trip I took with german Jakob to perth last year was by far the best trip yet! 3 weeks with 2 bikes, no plan and one van!

Favourite colour?

Blue.

Savoury or Sweet?

hmmmm right now sweet cause its hot and i feel like a cold ice block!

What did you get up to before answering these questions?

Jumped on the trampoline! haha.

What's the date and time right NOW!?

31st of october. 2:11pm.

What are you wearing right now?

Wet shorts! haha.

Any crazy experiences or unusual moments you have encountered ever?

First thing that pops in to my head was when Claw bent his leg at ridge the other day! rubber bones! And then Mozzy snapped a taybo over him and the ambulance dude. Amazing!

Favourite item you would never leave home without other than your bike, phone or mp3 player?

Clothes! haha.

Any shout outs or thanks for the lover out there?

Thanks to the big ol' guy in the sky for keeping me healthy, Primary, Little Black Bike and Wethepeople for helping me heaps! All my family and friends for supporting me and letting me do what i love! oh and jack for letting me stay at his on the weekends and eat all his bread! haha. thanks guys!
